About the Artist

Hi, my name is Lily Toppen!

This website showcases the artwork and photography I create in my spare time. Over the years, I have developed and refined my interest in art and broadened my skills by introducing film photography. In my artwork, I enjoy creating images with stark backgrounds, often either fully white or black. This strategy allows you to focus on the image itself and explore fine details you would otherwise miss. I have also been applying this strategy to photography. A new skill of mine, film photography, has been an exciting medium to explore and challenge myself with. The city of Chicago and my dogs, Murphy and Chloe, have been great subjects, and I am currently developing film that captures images of Washington, D.C.
